Begin with the groups a declaration requires, rather than a promise of winning. A thirteen-card Rummy table specifies how sequences, sets and jokers can be used. Learn those conditions through available practice, and inspect scoring before considering any eligible paid-entry round.
Review the Whole Hand before Declaring
Arrange all thirteen cards into allowed groups, including the required natural run. One finished set is insufficient; check the full declaration.
Three Terms Used at the Table
- Same-suit run: Consecutive ranks in one suit form a sequence. A natural run such as 5♥ 6♥ 7♥ has no substituting joker. The required natural group must be present alongside the other declaration conditions.
- Equal-rank set: A♠ A♥ A♦ share a rank across distinct suits; inspect permitted set sizes.
- Designated substitute: A printed or selected wild joker can fill an eligible missing card in a set or an impure run, subject to the table’s restrictions.
